Hillingdon has several heritage sites with distinct histories and qualities, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the London Borough of Hillingdon, we are launching the Hillingdon Heritage Membership Scheme. The Battle of Britain Bunker
Uxbridge
The Battle of Britain Bunker coordinated fighter aircraft throughout the Second World War, most notably during the Battle of Britain (1940) and D-Day (1944). The modern Exhibition and Visitor Centre positioned aboveground provides interpretation of the Dowding System (air defence network) and the site’s history in a family friendly and accessible environment.
Manor Farm House & The Great Barn
Ruislip
Set in 22 acres of beautiful grounds, Manor Farm boasts a unique collection of community spaces, historic buildings, archaeological remains and landscape features. Part of Manor Farm Heritage Site, ‘The Great Barn’ is a Grade II listed unique and exclusive venue and one of the oldest timber framed buildings of its type.
Eastcote House Gardens

Eastcote House Gardens is a peaceful park which has stood at the heart of Eastcote for more than 500 years.
Much of the space is grassland and many fine old ornamental trees grace the landscape. The significance of the word ‘gardens’ in the name of the site is due mainly to the Walled Garden where horticultural expertise is displayed in the maintenance of shrubs, herbaceous borders and herb beds.
An old orchard retains the tradition of past domestic use and Mulberry, Fig, Apples, Walnut and Medlar are featured. A new orchard was planted in December 2011 to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Hillingdon Museum & Archives
Uxbridge
Newly relocated within the Civic Centre, Hillingdon Museum and Archives Service have a vast collection of historical items, including more than 3,000 museum objects, ranging from prehistoric teeth to pub signs; books, pamphlets, journals and articles; more than 2,000 maps; photographs, prints and paintings of places, people; films dating back to 1922; newspapers on microfilm and hardcopy and interviews and local music.
Cranford Park
Cranford
Green Flag award winner in 2002 and every year since then. It is a historic countryside park that was originally the grounds of Cranford House (demolished 1945).
This 144 acre (58 hectares) park has a number of historical features including a walled garden, Ha-ha, a restored 18th century stable block, and the medieval St Dunstan’s Church.
The natural areas in the park include ancient woodlands, wildflower meadows and wetlands that comprise of marshland, ditches and ponds. The River Crane also flows through the park.

The Battle of Britain Bunker
As a member you would receive a bunker tour, unlimited access to the visitor centre, free entry to speaker series talks and 10% discount at our cafe and shop.

Manor Farm & The Great Barn
As a member you would receive a guided tour of the house and tour of the Great Barn as part of our member day activities. The Membership Scheme would include an extension of current speaker series programme to include talks from local historians and authors across subjects relevant to the site from Norman era, Tudors, Farming at Manor Farm, Kings College and Textiles.

Eastcote House Gardens
As a member you would receive a walking tour of the site on one of our member days. We would also look to develop the archaeological history of the site with speaker series talks and outdoor activities.

Hillingdon Museum & Archives
As a member you would receive a quarterly newsletter, free priority booking for exhibitions, walks, and talks. In addition, ‘Find my Past’ workshops will be run exclusively for members from 2026.

Cranford Park
As a member you will be the first to receive updates as this site develops. Currently in the pipeline is a cafe and heritage programme.

Who is Eligible for the Hillingdon Heritage Membership Scheme?
The Hillingdon Heritage Membership Scheme is available to all. Residents of the Borough of Hillingdon (Hillingdon First Cardholders) are able to receive a discount on their membership.
How do I book an event or site visit using my Hillingdon Heritage Membership?
When booking an event or site visit, select the ‘Heritage Membership’ option on the bookings page and ensure you bring proof of membership with you on the day.
How do I renew my Hillingdon Heritage Membership?
Your membership will automatically renew annually. You can cancel your membership at any time.
Can I use my membership for group bookings?
The Hillingdon Heritage Membership Scheme is intended for individual use. Group bookings (e.g. schools or community groups) may require separate arrangements. Please contact us for more information.
I have bought a ticket for a Hillingdon Heritage site/event but would like to upgrade to a membership. What do I do?
Speak to a member of our team by emailing bunker@hillingdon.gov.uk with the order number, let us know you’ve already bought an event ticket and you’d like to upgrade to a membership, and we can issue a part exchange.
I’ve lost proof of membership – what should I do?
You can request a replacement by contacting us via bunker@hillingdon.gov.uk
Do I need to bring proof of my Hillingdon Heritage Membership?
Yes. You may be asked to present proof when attending events or entering heritage sites.
Are there age restrictions for membership?
You must be over 16 years old to apply to join the Hillingdon Heritage Membership Scheme. Most events hosted by Hillingdon Heritage are free for under 16s.
