RECONSTRUCTING THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN
To commemorate the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain (1940-2025) staff at the Battle of Britain Bunker were honoured to hear the memories of Chris Wren.
Chris arrived at RAF Uxbridge exactly 40 years ago in 1985, when he was posted as the Warrant Officer in charge of the Motor Transport division. On his arrival, he had expressed an interest in history to the Station Commander, at which point, he was given the responsibility of the Bunker as his secondary duty.
He looked after the Bunker for over three decades, in both paid and voluntary capacities until his departure in 2018. A large part of why we can be here today is because of Chris and his actions.
