Getting to the Bunker By Bus
Several London bus routes stop within a 20-minute walk of the Bunker.

Driving to The Bunker
The Battle of Britain Bunker is located on Wren Avenue, Uxbridge, UB10 0GG.
Please note: for satnav and GPS systems, use the postcode UB10 0BE rather than the postal address — this routes more accurately to the site.
From the M25 / A40: Take the A40 towards Uxbridge/Oxford, then follow signs for Uxbridge town centre. Brown tourist signs will direct you to the Bunker from the surrounding roads.
Parking: Free parking is available on-site for all visitors, including designated accessible parking bays. Please be aware that the Bunker now falls within the ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) — check your vehicle’s compliance at tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ultra-low-emission-zone before travelling.

Getting to the Bunker By Train
Uxbridge Underground Station is the nearest station to the Bunker, served by the Piccadilly and Metropolitan lines. It’s about a mile from the station to the Bunker — roughly a 15–20 minute walk through Dowding Park, via the High Street and St Andrew’s Road (look out for the blue and brown tourist signs). A taxi rank is available at the station for those who’d rather not walk.
Hillingdon Underground Station, also on the Piccadilly and Metropolitan lines, is a little further out — around 3 miles from the Bunker by road, so not within walking distance. A bus or taxi is recommended for this leg.
West Drayton is the nearest National Rail station, on the Great Western Railway line. It’s a few miles from the Bunker, so isn’t within walking distance either — a local bus or taxi is recommended.

Getting to the Bunker By Sepcial Services
A number of longer-distance services also pass through Uxbridge and can bring visitors within reach of the Bunker.
Arriva 724 (Green Line) – This service runs hourly, 7 days a week, between Harlow and Heathrow Airport, via Watford, Rickmansworth, Denham and Uxbridge (York Road). It’s a useful option for visitors travelling from Hertfordshire, Watford, or directly from Heathrow. From the York Road stop, it’s a walk through the town centre to the Bunker (broadly comparable to the walk from Uxbridge Underground station).
Oxford Tube – Runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, between Oxford and London Victoria, stopping at Hillingdon. From there, it’s a short walk to Hillingdon Underground Station, then a few stops on the Piccadilly or Metropolitan line to Uxbridge.
Heathrow Airport connections – For visitors arriving by air, the U3 bus runs directly from Heathrow to St Andrew’s Church, Uxbridge, roughly a 10–11 minute walk from the Bunker.

Bunker Access
As a Grade I listed building, the Bunker and the Operations Room can only be accessed via 76 steps. There is no lift or ramp access.
For visitors with reduced mobility, we will be hosting a short film in our fully accessible Visitor Centre.

Coats & Buggy Park
The Visitor Centre has level access throughout and a lift between the spaces.
We can store one buggy in the Auditorium cloakroom. Please ask a member of staff for assistance. We ask that visitors avoid bringing large bags into the museum.
Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding is encouraged and supported across our site.
Eating Areas
There are picnic benches near the outside aircraft and plenty of space for running around.

Unfortunately, we currently do not have a Changing Places toilet. Your nearest Changing Places toilet is located in Uxbridge town centre;

Electric Charging
The Battle of Britain Bunker offers two free electric vehicle charging points on-site, located in the visitor car park on Wren Avenue. Available to all visitors during opening hours, they’re a convenient option for anyone arriving by EV and topping up while exploring the Bunker, exhibition, and surrounding parkland.
Baby Changing
Baby changing facilities are available on the First Floor of the Visitor Centre in the Accessible toilet.
