To mark the 86th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, BB86: The 15 Nations explores the remarkable stories of the countries that came to Britain’s aid during its ‘finest hour’. Through a full day of tours, talks, stalls, family activities, music, food, and living history, we’ll discover the vital contribution these nations made to the greatest air battle in history.  

Join us at the Battle of Britain Bunker as we commemorate the courage, sacrifice, and international cooperation that helped shape its outcome.

Yoga

Join us on Mondays for an evening of yoga in the museum. Taking place on the mezzanine level of the Visitor Centre, underneath the display of Second World War aircraft. Settle into stillness and allow yourself a moment of calm surrounded by the quiet presence of historic artefacts. Tickets are £6. package deals are available. Please bring your own mat.

The Polish Exhibition

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain (1940-2020) Hillingdon Council worked closely with the Polish Air Force Memorial Committee to create a new permanent display that highlights the vital role of the Polish Air Force during the Second World War.

The Visitor Centre Exhibition

The Battle of Britain Bunker Exhibition and Visitor Centre is a 2,000 square metre complex on two levels. The building is an award-winning state-of-the-art design to resemble the themes of aircraft and flight Within the complex is a café with outdoor terrace and gift shop, reception area and toilets.

About Us & Accessibility

The Visitor Centre and Exhibition space is fully accessible, with lifts and wheelchair access. There is also a Reception Desk at the entrance to the Visitor Centre, where staff are happy to help with any questions you may have.

Tour Tickets & Prices

The only way to visit the 1940s Bunker on site is to join one of our scheduled guided tours.

The Bunker is accessed via 76 steps and can be unsuitable for those with reduced mobility. Due to the heritage nature of the building there is no lift You can see up-to-date availability and book in advance here.Tours last around an hour, which includes a presentation in the plotting room.

The Visitor Centre closes at 4.30pm so please plan to visit before, if you are booked on the last tour. Please note, filming is not permitted.

Please arrive in good time for your booking, as latecomers may not be admitted.

Bunker Access

 As a Grade I listed building, the Bunker and the Operations Room can only be accessed via 76 steps. There is no lift or ramp access.

For visitors with reduced mobility, we will be hosting a short film in our fully accessible Visitor Centre.

Sensory Map

You can use our visual and sensory map to identify sensory-friendly places within the Visitor Centre and Bunker. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee that the spaces will be as shown. If you have concerns or questions, please email us or call us!

Coats & Buggy Park

The Visitor Centre has level access throughout and a lift between the spaces.

We can store one buggy in the Auditorium cloakroom. Please ask a member of staff for assistance. We ask that visitors avoid bringing large bags into the museum.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is encouraged and supported across our site.

Eating Areas

There are picnic benches near the outside aircraft and plenty of space for running around.

Changing Places

Unfortunately, we currently do not have a Changing Places toilet. Your nearest Changing Places toilet is located in Uxbridge town centre;
