The Battle of Britain Experience: 15 Nations Tours
Travel back 86 years to one of the most decisive days of the Battle of Britain – 15 September 1940 – and discover how 15 nations came together to fend off the threat of invasion in history’s greatest air battle, told in the room that was at the centre of it all – the headquarters of No. 11 Group Fighter Command: The Operations Room at RAF Uxbridge.

A unique Bunker tour using testimonies of the people who fought the Battle of Britain. An in-depth exploration of what it was like to defend Britain, both in the skies and from 60ft underground. Hosted by author and historian Dilip Amin.

Displays highlighting the vital contributions made by 15 disparate nations during the Battle of Britain. Discover how the Battle was won with the aid of pilots, ground crew, operational staff, fundraising efforts and political help from the four corners of the globe through a series of informative displays.

Open House London
Explore the Bunker’s unique Generator House as part of Open House Festival 2026.
Normally off‑limits to the public, it houses the original 1930s standby generator that powered the underground Operations Room coordinating RAF Fighter Command. It offers a glimpse into wartime engineering, featuring preserved machinery, original fittings, and fascinating stories of local wartime past.

Enjoy classic hits and 1940s favourites by the Friends Community Choir, sung in the Visitor Centre with Hurricane and Spitfire swooping overhead and surrounded by collection items from the Batlle of Britain and beyond.

Relive the spirit of the 1940s with an afternoon of music, dancing, and vintage charm.

Flag-tastic Creations
Get creative at Flag-tastic, our fun, family-friendly craft activity inspired by our 15 Nations theme.
Led by our Education Team, children can design and create their very own flag to celebrate their family, heritage, interests or what makes them unique. Whether inspired by culture, favourite colours, hobbies or imagination, every flag will tell a story.
Once complete, you can choose to take your flag home straight away or add it to our special museum bunting, where it will become part of a colourful community display celebrating the many backgrounds and identities of our visitors. If you choose to display your flag, you’re welcome to collect it to take home at a later date.
Suitable for all ages, Flag-tastic is a wonderful opportunity to get creative, celebrate diversity and help create a vibrant display that grows throughout the event.

Bunker Access
As a Grade I listed building, the Bunker and the Operations Room can only be accessed via 76 steps. There is no lift or ramp access.
For visitors with reduced mobility, we will be hosting a short film in our fully accessible Visitor Centre.

Coats & Buggy Park
The Visitor Centre has level access throughout and a lift between the spaces.
We can store one buggy in the Auditorium cloakroom. Please ask a member of staff for assistance. We ask that visitors avoid bringing large bags into the museum.

Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding is encouraged and supported across our site.

Eating Areas
There are picnic benches near the outside aircraft and plenty of space for running around.

Unfortunately, we currently do not have a Changing Places toilet. Your nearest Changing Places toilet is located in Uxbridge town centre;
