Large MEETING ROOM

Seating 50 guests

Situated in the heart of our state-of-the-art Visitor Centre and overlooking the main exhibition with a Hurricane and Spitfire flying overhead, it is perfectly suited for team meetings, workshops, training sessions, and parties.  

The Large Meeting Room can also be used as a useful break-out space or green room, or even a place to have lunch for your party following a private tour.

The Mezzanine floor – the floor overlooking the main exhibition space – is the perfect space to serve food and drinks, perfect for your guests to move around and talk whilst taking in the spectacular visitor centre.

AUDITORIUM

Our state-of-the-art auditorium is a large presentation space which is perfectly suited for award ceremonies, presentations and conferences.

EXHIBITION HALL

The Exhibition Hall is an award-winning space detailing the development of the UK’s air defence system from the First World War to the end of the Second World War, with a Spitfire and Hurricane suspended from the ceiling.

The Exhibition Hall is located within the fully accessible Visitor Centre, with a lift to take you from the entrance to the exhibitions. There is an accessible entrance from the lower car park directly into the Exhibition Hall. Please enquire about accessibility arrangements for visitors with hearing or visual impairments. 

Learning Centre

Located within the Grounds, the Learning Centre is a large space perfect for parties, events, meetings and workshops.

For large-scale events and weddings, the Entire Visitor Centre can be hired, which includes all of the hireable spaces within our 2,000 square metre complex.

Our Briefing Room is located within the Bunker, 60ft below the ground. This remote location is perfect for team building exercises, workshops and meetings.

Access: 
The Bunker Briefing Room is only accessible via 76 stairs. There are handrails all the way down, and a bench halfway for those who need a break on the stairs. The Bunker has toilet facilities. 

BESPOKE ARRANGEMENTS

pRIVATE tours

Seating 90 guests

A private tour can be arranged for your party at a cost of £420, with a maximum of forty persons, lasting around 75 minutes.  

Your expert guide will receive you at the Visitor Welcome desk and take you past our Spitfires and Hurricanes down the 76 steps to the historic, top-secret Operations Room that was in use throughout the Second World War. The guide will talk you through the crucial part the space and its staff played during the Battle of Britain and beyond.   

The best part about a private tour is that it can be personalised to you and your party’s preferences, just let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you. Your party is welcome then to explore the ‘Controllers Cabins’ at their leisure before making their way up to the surface. Private Tour tickets also include access to our Visitor Centre exhibitions. 

Catering

Our onsite caterers, AV Leisure, can provide a selection of hot and cold food and drink packages, from light refreshments to full catering services, helping to ensure your event runs smoothly. 

 

Alternatively, you can arrange your own catering.  External caterers must present a valid hygiene certificate and public liability insurance in advance of the booking. Caterers must supply photos of any equipment intended to be used, along with in-date PAT Certificates

Bunker Access

 As a Grade I listed building, the Bunker and the Operations Room can only be accessed via 76 steps. There is no lift or ramp access.

For visitors with reduced mobility, we will be hosting a short film in our fully accessible Visitor Centre.

Coats & Buggy Park

The Visitor Centre has level access throughout and a lift between the spaces.

We can store one buggy in the Auditorium cloakroom. Please ask a member of staff for assistance. We ask that visitors avoid bringing large bags into the museum.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is encouraged and supported across our site.

Eating Areas

There are picnic benches near the outside aircraft and plenty of space for running around.

Changing Places

Unfortunately, we currently do not have a Changing Places toilet. Your nearest Changing Places toilet is located in Uxbridge town centre;

Baby Changing
