Descend the steps of the Bunker and discover the rooms that changed the course of history. Your expert guide will talk you through the history of the site before you begin your descent down, enter through the Guard Room and into the preserved Operations Room for a 45-minute talk about how the Bunker worked, who worked there, and its pivotal role during the Battle of Britain and beyond. You will then have the opportunity to explore the Plotting Room and our museum in the Controller’s Cabins at your leisure. Your tour ticket will also include access to our Visitor Centre and Exhibition.

Secrets Uncovered Tour
Joining our Secrets Uncovered Tour allows visitors to step behind closed doors and journey through hidden rooms, underground corridors, and rarely seen objects that have been inaccessible to the public for many years. Along the way, uncover the remarkable stories of the men and women who worked tirelessly behind the scenes during the Battle of Britain and beyond, shaping the course of history.
The Secrets Uncovered Tour is approximately 90 mins long, providing visitors with the chance to explore the bunker in a much greater depth than is possible on our general tours.

Self-Guided Tour
Once a month visitors have the opportunity to experience the Bunker on a self-led visit. Explore the Wartime passages, Operations Room, and Controllers Cabin at your own pace.
Perfectly suited to families with very young children, neurodivergent visitors, and enthusiasts wishing to spend time exploring every aspect of this historic site. Bunker staff and volunteers will always be on hand to assist and answer any questions.

Family Friendly Tours
Discover the story of the Battle of Britain together on a specially designed family-friendly tour of the Battle of Britain Bunker. Relaxed, interactive and shorter in length than our standard tours, these sessions are tailored for younger visitors, bringing history to life through fascinating stories, engaging discussion and plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
Under 16s go FREE
The recommended age range for this tour is 7+ but younger visitors are welcome.

Private Tours and Bespoke Arrangements
A private tour can be arranged for your party at a cost of £420, with a maximum of forty persons, lasting around 75 minutes.
Your expert guide will receive you at the Visitor Welcome desk and take you past our Spitfires and Hurricanes down the 76 steps to the historic, top-secret Operations Room that was in use throughout the Second World War. The guide will talk you through the crucial part the space and its staff played during the Battle of Britain and beyond.
The best part about a private tour is that it can be personalised to you and your party’s preferences, just let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you. Your party is welcome then to explore the ‘Controllers Cabins’ at their leisure before making their way up to the surface. Private Tour tickets also include access to our Visitor Centre exhibitions.
