AUTHOR TALK: JIM NICOLSON

a presentation by Jim Nicolson about his uncle James Nicolson, the only Fighter Command pilot to be awarded the Victoria Cross (VC) during the #SecondWorldWar.
The talk will focus on Nicolson’s first-hand experience of the Battle of Britain and include a small display of personal objects and documents.
Jim will cover these areas of Nicolson’s career:
⭐️ Early RAF service.
⭐️ The incident that led to the award of the VC and the impact it had on Nicolson and his family.
⭐️ The politics behind the award and an explanation of why he was the only member of Fighter Command to receive the VC.
⭐️ Nicolson’s career post-1940 until his death in May 1945.
