Go Gustav! Craft Workshops

Brave pigeon Gustav flew 150 miles in heavy winds to deliver the Allies the first report on the Normandy landings in 1944. Pigeons like Gustav were incredibly important in the Second World War, delivering secret messages and helping to save lives when communication lines had been broken. Gustav became one of 32 courier pigeons to receive the Dickin Medal – the animal equivalent of the Victoria Cross.

This half term we’ll be hosting Go Gustav! workshops were you can craft your very own feathered friend to take home or put on our Animal Allies display wall.
