Speaker Series: Jack Bowsher – VJ Day

Join us at the Battle of Britain Bunker on 29 August for a special VJ Day Speaker Series event.

Jack is a military historian, author of Forgotten Armour: Tank Warfare in Burma and Thunder Run: Meiktila 1945, and Head of History at a Hertfordshire secondary school. He is also an Associate Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and co-host of The Forgotten War Podcast.

For this VJ Day special, Jack will explore the wider war in the East during the Second World War.. Through engaging storytelling and recent research, he will examine the key battles, environments, and challenges faced by Allied forces across Asia and the Pacific.

The talk will highlight the experiences of those who fought in these distant theatres, the strategic importance of the war against Japan, and how these campaigns contributed to the final Allied victory in 1945.
