The Battle of Britain has seen many adaptations of its story put to both film and television. From large-scale epics such as Battle of Britain (1969) to TV productions such as First Light (2010), each has reflected ever-changing styles to explore the story of the summer of 1940. James Jefferies will examine a number of examples and highlight how they not only reflect the changing narrative of 1940 but also reflect the times they were produced and how they have influenced the British cultural memory of the battle.
