Speaker Series: Robert Pike
On 10 June 1944, Oradour-sur-Glane, near Limoges in France, was wiped out by an SS division: 643 people lost their lives. For his book ‘Silent Village: The Life and Death of Oradour-sur-Glane’ historian Robert Pike delved into the archives and interviewed the last few survivors. Many rumours have circulated as to the motive of the massacre of Oradour-sur-Glane.
In this talk Robert Pike leaves no doubt that the horrific, methodically organised massacre was premeditated and a war crime.
