Uxbridge at War – A Walking Tour

Uxbridge at War – A walking tour led by Hillingdon Heritage in partnership with the Royal British Legion.

Discover the hidden history of Uxbridge’s unique military past, from the famous ‘Battle of Britain Bunker’ at RAF Uxbridge, its Royal Flying Corps days, the ancient Uxbridge Yeomanry and how the town came together in aid of front line troops during the First World War.

This tour will meet at the Battle of Britain Bunker at 11:30, pausing for refreshments at the Hillingdon Museum and Archives, and ending at Uxbridge Tube Station at approximately 13:30. Booking essential – FREE but a suggested donation of £10 to the Royal British Legion welcome. A card reader will be available for donations at the Bunker and the Civic Centre. Please wear suitable footwear and warm clothing.
